How to Poach an Egg

Ingredients
Fresh Organic Eggs
Pot of water
Dash of vinegar
Before you start here are some important tips that will set you up to succeed
Make sure your eggs are really fresh
Have the water at a steady simmer before you add the eggs
Have the eggs at room temperature, this stops the water temperature dropping too much
Crack your egg into a ramekin or cup instead of cracking straight into the water
Create a gentle whirlpool in the water to help the egg white wrap around the yolk
Slowly tip the egg into the water
Use a slotted spoon to lift the eggs out once cooked
Method
Bring the water with the vinegar added to a steady simmer
Gently swirl the water
Add the eggs one at a time
They will take approximately 2 minutes to cook from room temperature
Remove with a slotted spoon and place on kitchen paper to remove excess water
